  1. Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a DVD burner (the A05 or 06) and was wondering how tricky it is to do what I want. I have read a million guides, and am now very confused.

Here's what I'd like to do:

    1. Take my DV cam, transfer the movie, add a menu etc. Easy Right? But I also want to store some audio and photos on the DVD and accesss them via the menu - as you get on some fancy DVDs from the store.

--->>> Can I do this too? Mixing movies, audio and having a photo gallery?

    2. Next thing I want to do is take a bunch of vcd tv shows, and put them onto the dvd (I reckon you can get about 20 shows on 1 disc?)... and watch them without problem?

--->>> Am I right - VCD is easy with DVD? I know that converting other formats is tricky - but can I just dump my MPGs onto the DVD, burn and watch?

    3. last, if I take a dl'd SVCD (2xbin and cue), extract the dat, rename to MPG, then I can burn them on a DVD and watch without problem right?

    thanks for your help!

I've done this, what I did was import the pics into Vegas Video and set them to display for about 10 seconds each, and placed a simple crossfade transition between them. Then I added sound, and rendered it all as a dvd-compliant mpeg. Took about 10 minutes to do it.

Once I imported that into my authoring software, I just deopped chapter points at the beginning of each picture, so I could quickly get to one I wanted.
