  1. I've got one of these horrible players. Some movies work, and some don't. It seems movies encoded by myself play nicely with the VCD header trick glorified in the xVCD world.

However, copies of films that are not encoded as SVCD by me and are.......Obtained, fail to work with the VCD header trick.

The following example is a photoshop rendering of how the film appears:

And I am uncertain as to why I am capable of producing an SVCD that functions properly with the VCD header trick, but other films do not work.

I've tried many tricks listed, and I'm positive the source file is in perfect condition.

    Help? ~Confused~

I've had the same problems with the RV-32. I find it to be very finicky about what cdrs it likes. It hates TDKs. Sonys are fine as long as you don't have any fingerprints on them etc. I'm through with the RV-32 and went out and bought a Mintek 1600 from Target a couple of weeks ago for $39 and it plays every CDR I throw at it, fingerprints and all. Though it is lacking in the MP3 department, for playing SVCDs, VCDs its great and fast forward and rewind seems as fast as my TIVO. Also Disk digest is a too cool feature. Now I'd like to find out how to convert my VCD header tricked VCDs (I used exclusively for the RV32) to SVCDs.
