Hi, I have read and read. What is the best way to Rip and make a Svcd?
I tried DVDx over and over, it's always off far as audio and video sync.
Is it best to rip, then use the virtual Dub? Then go to the TMPGenc.
If I missed a post on the best way to go to start, I apologize.

I would suggest DVD2SVCD used with TMPGENC. It automates the process and is very easy to use. It makes great quality SVCD's, DVD's or VCD's

After clicking [Open IFO] and selecting the proper file, are you making sure [Audio/Video synchronisation], [Detect progr. 24 Hz] and [Force 24 Hz] are all checked?

To elaborate more...
I rip my DVDs with Smart Ripper, encode with DVDx and burn with Nero.
After running Smart Ripper, open DVDx and click [Open IFO]. Select the proper file and you will be taken to your Input Settings screen. Make sure [Audio/Video synchronisation], [Detect progr. 24 Hz] and [Force 24 Hz] are all checked. After clicking [OK], you will probably get a warning of some kind but just click [OK] and go ahead with your Output Settings.
The resulting file should be in synch... -
I too, get excellent results with Smart Ripper and DVDX 2.2.
You can adjust the bitrate to fill the number of CD-R's you wish to use.
