Ive got an mpeg 1 file which has a bitrate of 1300 kbps.
i want to convert it to an mpeg 2 file and burn as an svcd.
Im quite new to this vcd stuff but basically i want to do this
a)demultiplex the file to seperate audio and video
b)re-encode the video in tmgp
c)multiplex them back together
d)create the vcd.
Ive got stuck at part a) , using tmgp it wont demultiplex it properly, each file is only about a 1/5th of the whole video. Im not sure if this is because it has a padding stream. Ive tried using bbdemux but this doesnt work either. Ive also tried fixing the file using vcdgear but this wont work, in the log file it reports it has a 5412 sector size and attempts to give it the right sector size and also pad the file but it just splits it into about 30 seperate mpegs none of which are readable.
I know i could rencode both the audio and video at in tmpg but i dont want to lose audio quality.
Anybody got any suggestions on how i can get this file to demultiplex?
Running winxp
thx,
bri
