  1. i am using ulead dvd factory to make a simple dvd with a menu containing about 5 mpeg1 clips. i have made all the necessary adjustments and wanted ulead to output the file into a video_vts folder. however, about 5-7% into the operation, the software hangs and i have to restart my computer. does anyone know how to fix this? is there a better alternative than ulead dvd factory to make a simple dvd out of mpeg's. thanks.

first of all mpeg 1 is vcs format and can almost never be put onto a dvd unless you look at this guide.. https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm.. its not compatible...ulead dvd movie factory may start it up, but at somepoint it will stop because its not in the right format and too much work has to be exerted to get it into the right format aiight....reencode the vidz to dvd mpegs with tmpgenc..and then use soemthing like tmpgenc dvd author..that program makes its own video_ts folder...holla back and tell me how it works

  3. cool. i have both .dat files and mpeg files that i want to fit on the dvd. i will check the video and audio properties for each making sure they are compliant before burning with ulead. i have used both isobuster and tmpeg so hopefully i should be able to get through this step. thanks for the help, probably try this over the weekend.

MPEG1 is valid for DVD. Look in the DVD section on this site. 352x240, MPEG1 is valid for a lower resolution DVD...
Finding a program that will accept MPEG1 as DVD in another question...

  5. i don't know other progz out there like ulead dvd factory so i will stick with ulead. i am planning to use tmpeg to convert all the files to 352x240, 29.7 fps, cbr 1150 kps, 48khz 192 kps audio. hopefully this will fix everything cause i am planning to fit atleast 5 to 8 episodes on one dvd from a total of 40 episodes. thus making my collection fit on 5-8 dvds instead of having 40 cdr laying around. thanks for the tip.
