How would I go about doing a multiboot with

    Windows ME
    Windows 2k
    Windows Xp
    Windows 2003
    Windows LongHorn
    Red Hat Linux

Money is no object and I plan to do this with my barebones system (200GB HDD)

  2. i guess it is possible, i would imagine it would be best to have Xp (although thinking on it linux is the most flexxable with such things??) as the main boot system, i am sure there wuld be sum software to allow you access which you wanted 2 boot up each time.

dont you find Me far too buggy?
Longhorn isn't out yet and the beta versions are terribly unstable, why do you want it (outta interest)

    sorry i cant b much help m8

PS i tried to boot and encode in safe mode and i losta bout 30% encoding speed!
1)Why Not Overclock a little?! speed 4 free!!!!
    2) If your question has anything to do with copying PS2/PC/XBox games, find a more appropriate website

You're gonna need a good boot loader and plenty of partitions. Go to techtv.com and do an archive search on the screensavers. A while back they had a guy that sucessfuly booted 49 OS's. He said the hardest part was figuring out witch order to install OS's

    Good luck!

Here's a link you might be interested in. It's about booting over 30 OS's.

What do mean? 30% as in speed gained or lost?
Basically was it faster or slower?

Your first partition has to be FAT32. Install WinMe onto it first. Then install Win2k and WinXP on separate partitions (preferably NTFS). Probably you can install the rest of your MS OS's here too.

Now you should be able to boot on any of your your MS operation systems using MS bootloader. Install Red Hat with a small (~10 Mb) bootpartition. Don't install lilo / grub or any other Linux bootloader at this stage and make sure you created a boot disc for Linux. Install BootMagic in WinMe and configure it for booting either WinMe or Linux. Now you can boot either into Linux or WinMe. If you choose WinMe you'll get another bootmenu for choosing between different MS operating systems.

I haven't personally had this many OS's on my computer, but I once had Win98SE+Win2k+Mandrake 8.1 at the same time.

Another option is to use WMWare for creating virtual operating systems (first to boot into W2k and then booting into other systems inside W2k, for example)

  7. weed- i remeber a while ago you mensioning that when you encode in safe mode you notice an huge increase in encoding speed. doubtful though i was i tried it and found that, when in safe mode, i lost over 30% of my encoding speed! it isn;t surprising, due to fewer and inferiour drivers being used! are u SURE u noticed an INCREASE in encoding speed when you encode in safe mode???
