  1. Hi, I wonder if any of you had the same problem which I am having, I am able to burn dvd which plays perfectly but if I want to make copy of that new dvd there is no way I can do that, I take original dvd9, use dvd decryptor, then dvd2one, then burn it through copytodvd (dvd video), also tried burn through nero (dvdrom udf/iso), anyway once I burn it the dvd plays perfect, problem is that I can not make copy of the dvd I just made, when I try to copy the data to pc it always gives me read error, I tried 3 different media and different dvds to start with, when I try for example nero to make the copy of the dvd it will but the dvd does not play the end, e.g last 2 chapters are unplayable in dvd player ( I have absolutely no clue what could be causing this problem and its really quite puzzling to me, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
    p.s. I do have pioneer 105 burner, 2ghz P4, 512 ram, I burn at 1x speed

  2. I make back ups with DVD2One, same as you do. If I want to copy the resulting disk, I start Nero and from the file menu, I selct Copy CD. Then I check the "Copy of the Fly" box. Then burn at 1x. It works fine.

  3. Have you tried using DVD decryptor to copy the DVD to your hard drive in the iso mode and writing to disc in the iso mode? You can also try copying the audio and video folders to your HD and then burning with nero.

  4. yes, I tried I would say EVERYTHIG I can think off, wasted at least 50 dvds. yet problem still remains, I have no clue why, the 1st dvd which I make is always fine (no matter if I use copy2dvd or nero or aything else), 100% success rate BUT if I want to make copy of that dvd I just make I can not ... seems like the programs would there some copy protection, seems stupid and insane but its only reasonable explanation I can come up with... I am really really lost here, any1 have any theoretic explanation to this problem ?

  5. Why would you waste 50 discs when that could be avoided by using a RW disc until the problem is sorted out? Anyway I would first make sure my system didn't have any ASPI problems by downloading and running "ForceASPI" from the tools section. I assume you have tried different brands of media so that's not the problem. Have you tried using SmartRipper to rip the copy then use DVDshrink to simply re-author the DVD with no changes and then burn?

To make a copy of a copy I simply use RecordNow Max and tell it to make an exact copy (disc to disc copy).

  6. I've run into a similar problem, but with different issues. Xbox didn't like the dvd+r (even though PS2 likes it), so I tried copying to dvd-r from dvd+r, and made 4 coasters right away using 4 different tools (recordnow, easy dvd creator, dvd decrypter, and copy2dvd). tried copying to dvd+r, works fine. Not media issue - both verbatim. I know dvd+r and dvd-r has different technical specs. Just for curiosity's sake, anyone know why it may not work to copy + to - or vice versa?

Anyways, the aforementioned 4 coaster was the only drawback of owning dru500ulx... At least the previous poster failed during read, why coaster? If this is prob. try reading the disc on the original writer...

One more Q. My v2 PS2 likes dvd+r, -r but not +rw. Anyone know if they like -rw?

ad 50 discs, i did not had any dvd rw on hand and I did not expect to waste that many, I though that once my dvd works with 100% success fine in dvd player, there will not be any issue with dvd decrypt +dvd2one, you think smart rip and dvd shrink would do any difference ? I am looking for anythg which would explain why I can not simply copy the files from the dvd I made to pc, yet the dvd play flawlessly in dvd player, its puzzle to me, only thing I encounter so far which you was not able to copy directly to computer were original dvd's or other specially protected material but not something what nero or other burning program would make, I have also 4 computers (2 desktops, 2 laptops), I tried on all of them, always read error, always same file, I tried at least 3 different media and at least 10 different original dvd's.... 1 more thing bit out of topic, I was able to burn with 2x speed after I installed firmware 1.3 on pionner 105 and suddenly the speed dropped to 1x, if I try burn at 2x speed it says power calibration error... kinda sux, but thats not major problem, the unability to make copy of my own dvd is

  9. Well both SmartRipper and DVdshrink are free programs so you have nothing to lose by giving them a try.
