One of my Standalones seems to not recognize my+RW anymore, it says cannot play disc. I use it as my test dummy, and have burned it many times with MF2. Its an older Sony DVD player, the other 2 in the house play it fine. Could it be my bit rate of 8000 is to high for it?
Thanks,
Dominic
PS it worked once with this disc.

Definitely not a problem with bit rate. Maybe the disk is slightly dirty or scratched in one area?

From all the sources I've seen a DVD+-RW should be able to be re-written ~1000 times. If you're having issues, I'd look at the disc surface as the previous post stated for scratches and dirt. Also, if this happens to be a lower quality brand of RW, it may have a lower threshold for number of reburns.
Also, you just might have a defective RW, so check the warranty information and see about getting it replaced from the manufacturer.
