320x240 mpeg1 is a valid NTSC DVD resolution, but isn't taken very seriously by anyone other than huge VCD library owners.

"I am trying to convert mpeg to mpeg2 but it wont let me it says that the file cannot open or is unsupported.."

Chances are that the file you're trying to open is already an mpeg2 file. Try using DVD2AVI on the file, save as a project, and then load the *.d2v file into TMPG. (NOTE: mpegs are not on the "file type" list in DVD2AVI ... you have to select the drop arrow and show "all files" to see it listed...it will then load if you select it)

"Can i change the Pixelation of a movie??"

Yes, you can change the resolution of your file either by re-encoding in TMPG or you can transcode it with a freeware program called ReMPG.
You can find this program in the tools section on the left.

    Good luck!

Well, both that and for capturing things that are not too important. Also realize that the MPEG1 DVD spec limits you to bitrates of 1150-1856, not higher or lower, and even then it must be CBR. What few VCDs I had were converted to MPEG1 DVD, and the movies I capture from HBO/PPV are dumped to 1856k MPEG1, which still yields a very decent quality for the casual watcher. Can stick about 3 movies per DVD from this capture rate, about the same as if I had used a VCR tape, but a heck of a lot smaller. The VCR now collects dust.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
