    I know how to demultiplex an mpg1/2 file but how do you demuliplex an avi?

  2. Use virtualdub.

    Open avi file.
    Audio->Direct stream copy. OR
    Audio->Full processing, Audio->Compression=None
    File->Save wav.

    Video->Direct stream copy
    Audio-> No audio.
    File->save Avi

    All done!

    Wouldn't that simply mean re-encodeing the avi,not demultiplex. If it took an hour to encode the original file,isn't VirtualDub going to take another hour to separate the video stream by re-encoeing?

  4. No because as stated the setting is direct stream copy.
