This is an easily solveable problem with a simple re-render..
But I'm asking cause maybe there's a quicker way..
I used VEGAS VIDEO 3.0 to create a pair of DVD compliant streams.
My input source was DV AVI and the program (SONIC 3.0)
made me two files an .M2V video portion and an .MPA audio portion
I USED THE STOCK TEMPLATE-these kind of MPEG files are compliant for every DVD application on my machine (MY DVD , Spruce Up see them ok)
I'm pretty sure I didn't customize anything (tho I have upped the bit rate on occasion )
Then I installed VEGAS ARCHITECT and lo and behold,
NOT ONLY DOES THIS PRODUCT NOT SEE THE FILES ON THE HARDDRIVE
but it doesn't recognize its own cousin program's file extension .M2V
The audio imports fine..but the VIDEO is -dare I say it- NON-COMPLIANT!!!!
So NOW I open VEGAS 3.0 again..and NOW ARCHITECT has added at least four new TEMPLATES to MPEG-2 output capabilities....
IT SEEMS THAT IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS DVD I need to re-render using the templates now present...Why would they not accept files from their own sister application..Is there a quick conversion utility I don't know about?

DVD-A doesn't input video streams.
In the render settings, export the stream as a video only program stream.
To fix the ones you have, multiplex as a video only program stream. Video only, no audio.
Search the forum for this same problem, it was discussed a week or so ago. -
export the stream as a video only program stream
Unless you're saying I must do this every time?
and then MUX outside of VEGAS?---using what application? TMPG's Program stram is that what you refer to?--
because VEGAS doesn't accept M2V and neither does ARCHITECT
FROM THE ARCHITECT 1.0 HELP FILE:VEGAS ACCEPTS:NTSC MPEG video (.m2p, .mp2, .mpg, .mpeg)
I'll definitely use the newer templates next time...BUT THEY'RE elementary streams as well.. I gues they'll be the correct file extensions to import though..
These M2V STREAMS are only COMPLIANT if you use another application than ARCHITECT...
a quick search on ARCHITECT here turned up nothing of the thread -

Funny the search didn't return that thread..
THANKS for dredging it up for me!!!!
In the interim, tho' I did what you said and MUXED the streams....
It worked 100%
I now have my first project with MOTION MENUS created at home!
YAY
ps I should say will have..cause it worked in PREVIEW..and its building to the HARDDRIVE rite now..I think DVDA rocks now!
BTW The DVD is of a obscure unavailable feature called
SPIRITS of the DEAD (1968?)
its a three parter, off TELEVISION on VHS originally
The first segment stars PETER and JANE FONDA in a ROGER VADIM piece
The Second animated button Launches
FEDERECO FELLINI's segment "Toby Damnit" with Terrence Stamp
The Third selection is LOUIS MALLE's segment that stars BRIGITTE BARDOT -
Thanks again!..it all came out ok! making .AC3 at home ROCKS!
VEGAS now recieves my vote as the best DVD AUTHORING SOFTWARE for HOME USE available!
To those of us who don't have a thousand dollars to spend
or a friend with one of those out of production programs by SPRUCE or DAIKIN
This PROGRAM has so many options! I've barely scratched the surface
but I noticed while I carefully crafted my animated thumbnails to loop seamlessly (the 240x180-clip had an internal dissolve back to the first frame stilled) VEGAS looped them with a CUT I didn't intend in the motion,
That is they looped seamlessly on my desktop,
but on the menu, were stopped at some arbitrary point by VEGAS ..
I 'm gonna keep this one..(DOESN'T LOOK BAD, just jarring when it cuts)
and try to loop seamlessly on the next
