Many of the listed DVD plays will play raw MPG's burned to an ISO CD, but do they generally play the same files burned to DVD, too?
I ask because my DVD player will play MPG's burned to CD, but has problems when I burn the same MPG to DVD. I was using Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator to burn MPG to DVD as data files. My DVD player would seem to read the disk, but would lock up a few seconds into playing the MPG.
Are there some good, inexpensive DVD players that will play unauthored MPG on DVD?

No,
You can't burn an MPEG straight to DVD and expect it to play in you DVD player.
If you want to convert your MPEG into a DVD then you have to use some sort of authoring program (like Ulead DVD Movie Factory).
SO, try Ulead and see how it goes...
