    can u play a dvd in ur computer with out a dvd rom drive can u use ur cd rom drive if so what software do i need

    you cant use your cd-rom drive to read dvd's. not a chance in hell.

    but you could watch a dvdrip from your harddrive.

    A) ITS NOT A SOFTWARE DEAL, its a hardware/firmware deal.

    B) Thats like asking if your CD-ROM drive could read your 3-1/2 floppy disk.
