  1. Does anyone have any information or knows where to find information about how to author a DVD Game i.e. Dragon's Lair DVD.
It plays video clip and you can use you remote to play it by press the appropriate direction at a certain time. I am sure it is probably all in the way it is structured. I am not sure though how the navigation would be put in though. Thanks

its pretty easy .. buy scenarist ($25,000) , take the course , practice for about 6 months - a year ...

and you can whip one out also (helps to have a graphics art dept also)

  3. Back in the early 80's they had two laser disk games that by selecting chapters would run you through the plot. Add up some stuff and jump to that frame to see if you were right. One was called I think "Murder Anyone".

Another way is to use a computer to play indivisual track. Same way some of the interactive computer/LD units worked worked back then. That may be the easy way on the cheep to do somthing what you want.

  4. I have ReelDVD, would I be able to do something with it. Plus I am interested in the structure how to. I imagine it would end up being a giant flow chart of events or like a troubleshooting chart... if then type stuff. Of course I would be doing something on the cheap side with some video footage I have.

Probably not. As BJ_M said, Scenarist and LOTS of experience. Stuff like that isn't easy as you may think it to be.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  6. Designing a game is not a slam dunk. The first 90% is easy but the last 10% is a nightmare!

    ReelDVD - not a chance

Scenarist is about it -- even maestro isnt used for that (though it could be in a way -- not as powerfull though) , Scenarist has full control of the complete dvd menu structure ... but its not a drag and drop and check off this box kind of application ..

as i said -- $25,000 plus about a year of your time

  8. Thanks guys.

I have been doing authoring and I was just wanting to see if I was capable of doing some special authoring like that with my existing software and hardware. Scenarist is a bit out of my reach on price so I guess I will forget about doing something like that.

    Thanks again.
