  1. i have a computer. it has a dvd-rom. i have a dvd. it has a frame or two that i'd like to capture (use it as a background). how do i do this? if there's a way around ripping the dvd to mpeg then getting a single frame out of it, please tell me. if i have to convert, is there a guide that's been done, if not, would you mind telling me how? i'm not interested in ripping the audio and/or the whole dvd, i'm just interested in getting some screen shots at the best possible quality/resolution.

    much appreciated

Or, open the movie in Virtualdub, go to Video, then to COPY SOURCE (in or output) frame to clip board - then paste it into IrfanView to save the jpg, or into whatever program you need it in.
