It should work if you have installed the ac3 codec/filter. Use gspot to check if you have it installed.

If you have correctly installed the AC3 codec, then the DivX should play fine. You may have to configure your soundcard on what to do with a 5.1 audiotrack (assuming it's a 5.1 track). My card will do 5.1, 4.1, dolby surround (with sub and without) , and stereo (with sub and without).

  4. From what I understand the divx player from divx.com doesn't support ac3 and that you need a player that does, like windvd or powerdvd. You can have all the filters, codecs, etc installed in the world but if your player doesnt support ac3 then you'll get nothing! I play my ac3 encoded divx files thru my tv out and using the spdif out for the sound I get wonderful 5.1 sound!
