Hi all - I'm sure its been passed around here someplace, but if you own a DC-50, there's a chap from Germany who has made a WinXP driver, available from www.mirosupport.de. Since I got a miro DC-50 for free this week, I went ahead and paypalled him the $12 and received the driver promptly in a few hours. Works great! <end shameless plug>

So here's my questions about capturing via Premiere 6.0.2. Be warned that I've never used a DC-50 before:

1) In Project Settings -> Capture -> Settings...I setup "ITU-R," (other options are "TV crop," and "Quarter-size"), which comes out to 720x486, 48k audio. However, in Project Settings -> Video, these settings are different, no matter what I set the driver panel's settings to. Which of these generally takes presedence?

2) Unless I have a bad breakout box, audio capture does not appear to work via the DC-50. I get a very odd semi-overloaded type of sound going in and out, and I know the cabling is all fine. How can I capture the audio in realtime via my audio card with the video from the DC-50 at the same time?

3) In Project Settings -> General...what should I choose under the option "Editing Mode." miroInstant Video, Video for Windows, or Quicktime? In choosing miroInstant Video, does it force MJPEG compression?

4) In Project Settings -> Video...I'm capturing VHS video tapes via S-Video, later to be converted to DVD/MPEG-2. What resolution should I use? 640x480? 720x486? Should pixel aspect ratio be Square pixels?

As is apparent, I'm generally confused as to what to make of all of these options...gonna spend some time reading tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch ahead of time to those who have the patience to answer these...
