  1. Hi,

I imported a movie with 224Kb/s AC3 audio in DVDMaestro, set the chapters and compiled it. Afterwards i burnt it to a DVD+RW.
Now just before any chapter starts the last frame of the previous chapters always holds for a second before the new chapter starts...is there a way to make this go smoothly without this interruption?

    Thanks.

I have never had this occur in Maestro, and I've been using it for 2 1/2 years.

Are you sure you made chapters? Your file is all 1 contiguous file?
Maybe it's an interaction between the player and your media...

Or maybe a non-standard GOP setting that is mucking it up.

  3. Yes, i use 1 file for the movie and marked the chapter points in DVDmaestro. Before i encoded my movie with all GOPs closed, but then the chapter transitions showed a 'hickup' before continueing to the next chapters...so i did not have the encoder close the GOPs anymore. After this the hickup dissappeared...but still as before the last frame of every chapter stops for a second before continueing. I noticed that if the last frame of a chapter doesn't show so much motion then i would not notice so much of the transition to the next chapter. I wonder if things will go smoothly if i make the last frame to be an image of the previous last frame in the same chapter...
I tried it on the Pioneer DVD-525 and DVD-444. Both showed the same.

its not maestro doing that unless you checked off in your chapter atributes to pause for a set time at each chapter end (or stop) ... you can do that ..

right click on a chapter mark , select edit, and clear all check boxs ..

  5. In the chapter properties only "chapter point" and "auto-update name with T.C." is checked. The others are not selected.

I have tested on 3 Pioneer consumer players and they all stop for a second at the last frame of every chapter before starting the next chapter. However, when i use my Pioneer DVDrom in my computer it doesn't show this problem at all. I wonder if it is just Pioneer...

In my project i have a mainmenu with a PlayMovie and Chapters button. The Chapters button calls upon a 2nd menu. Actually what options should be standard disabled in the properties of the menus? I already disabled the fastforward/rewind/next/previous/still off/pause, but don't know what these PTT search or others are. In my menus i have background music, so i disabled the menu/topmenu buttons for the remote-control, only allowing it to go back through a menuoption in my Chapter menu.

standard disabled = non disabled ...

rare to disable any of them and no good reason to do so unless for kiosk self play type dvd's and the like and some types of interactive menus

pioneer has no problems with maestro author'd dvd's .. i can assure you of that ..

maestro is accually still supported to reg'd owners to a limited degree .. contact your dealer and such .. it came with a nice training anyway most of the time ..

if i could see your settings i prob. could fix it in a sec ..

i dont have it on this machine but i cant even remember if chapter point is selected .. somehow i think not but i may be wrong ..
try unchecking it and whip off a dvd and check it out -- at the same time - dont disable all those controls unless you feel strongly that you dont want some controls..

  7. Thanks for your help. I already solved it. The cause seems to be at the connections for the End Actions for the chapters. I wanted the chapters to continue with the next chapters when it ended, so i pointed every chapter to the next one. Clearing these End Actions made the chapter transition smoothly and the chapters just standard continues

If i cleared the check on Chapter Point on a chapter property then it won't be a chapter anymore...i tried it before.

It plays fine now on my Pioneer consumer player

Actually, that occurence of the pausing @ Chap EndActions is noted in either the manual or one of the update readmes. It does help to thoroughly read the manuals, esp. with richer apps like Maestro. There's lots of good hints in there.

    Glad it's going good now,
    Scott
