DVD Squeeze says it can convert any avi. mpg, or DVD to 1 cdr with no loss of quality. I have a large 1400 mb mpg an I can not figure out how DVD Squeeze works to get this on 1 cdr.

    Does anyone know.

    Thanks for any help

  2. frankly, it can't. There are certain laws of physics and mathematics that even the program-stealing, false-advertising fools at dvd squeeze can't violate. It is physically impossible to put 1400mb of data on a 700mb disk. Your options are to split it onto two disks, preserving the quality, or reencoding it so that your 1400mb movie is shrunk down to where it will fit on one CD. This, however, will result in about a 50% drop in quality. Those really are your only two options with this programs. If you're looking to do VCD's or SVCD's, maybe you should take a look at some of the free programs that are offered that do more or less the same thing without making promises that it can't deliver on.

  4. Yeah, well, they don't actually claim that they can put a full length movie on 1 CD without compressing, but they are basically charging money for creating an interface that uses a bunch of freeware programs, or atleast code from those programs to make a quick buck. I work solely in DVD-Rs now, but before I got my burner, I was using VCDEazy and EasyVCD, two freeware programs, to make all my (X)VCDs. The combination of those two programs does everything from ripping to reencoding to burning. However, to get decent quality I was using 3 CDs per full-length movie. You can make SVCDs that look pretty damn good, but it's still not DVD-quality, as far as I know.
