  1. Hi,

I've noticed that the VCD or CVD created by ffmpegx from DivX files give "jerking" travellings. I mean this problem is noticeable with long camera travellings but nearly invisible on normal scenes.

As the DiVX are encoded in NTSC and as i encode in PAL, i suspect a problem with that conversion.

Is there some known solution? I've tried to encode in NTSC but my home recorder (or my TV doesn't seem to support it).

  2. Try PAL image size and NTSC framerate.

Humm, that's seems to fix my pb (as far i can see on my Mac). Waiting for the stuff to be completed to see what it gives on my home DVD-player.

    Thanks a lot!

  4. Hi there same problem over here...
Mostly convert divx or Xvid movies to SVCD the jerking is indeed noticable in panshots.
The jerking problem is already noticable when playing the movie on my computer so I guess it's pretty impossible to get rid of it?
How can it be that when a movie origanally consists of 29 frames a sec. you can cut it down to 23?
DVD's sold in the U.S. are they standard 29 frames a sec.?

    Thanx!
    J.

No, they're almost all encoded at NTSC FILM rate.
