    Symptom
If you capture video with Scenalyzer and try and use it in another Windows application, then that application may have problems outputting the files via DV / printing the files to tape.
    Information
We found some problems with files generated by the Scenalyzer software. If you're using Scenalyzer, then you can run this test. First close Blade and do the following:
    a. capture a 10 second or longer Type 2 DV file with Scenalyzer
    b. capture a Type 2 DV clip which is roughly the same length as the files in (a) using any other Windows DV application
    c. close all other applications
    d. open the Windows task manager
    e. open media player
    f. load the Scenalyzer file into media player
    g. note how much memory is being used
    h. load the DV file captured with the other application
    i. note how much memory is being used
Compare the memory used in (g) and (i)
We have found that the file captured in Scenalyzer even though it is the same length as the file captured in another application uses a lot more memory.
    Status
We've reported this to the makers of Scenalyzer and they are aware of the problem. As soon as we have any further information on this we will let you know.

    FYI,

I have found that, in my system, Scenalyzer freezes after trying to capture anywhere from 1/2 to 1 hr of video.
When I ent through all of the settings of Scenalyzer, I made sure that the file size would split upon reaching a 2GB size then continue. Despite the fact I have been using NTFS formatted drives, the app still freezes at some point after making a third AVI file (for the same capture event).

Of the resulting avi files, two are ok. The third file gives a resulting "memory" message and refuses to play in WMV player. This is despite the fact that the third file is less than 20MB in size.
Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
