    I'm trying to convert a DivX 5.05 file to SVCD however when the conversion gets to around the 12 or 13 second mark the preview just freezes the picture. When the conversion is fiished I try to watch it but again the picture freezes at the 12/13 second mark. The audio is fine but the picture is a no go after that. I tried to edit the source and again it's fine up to the 12/13 second point however at this point it again freezes. I cut out a couple of seconds in case it was a bad frame or two but it makes no difference, it still freezes.

    Anyone got any ideas ?? Do I need any other Codecs ?? The file plays fine through my DivX player.

    Definately a bad frame issue (or a more generally corrupt AVI). Run it thru VirtualDub, scan for bad frames.

    Cheers, but I've tried VirtualDub and it says that there are no bad frames

    It was the damned codec.
