Been having a problem burning VCD/SVCD lately. Been doing what I normally do: burn VCD/SVCD using Roxio EasyCD Creator, Record NowDX or VCDEasy, same media as usual, but all of a sudden, none of my VCD/SVCD play on my stand-alone DVD player. All the files are on the disc too.

I made sure my Disc is closed and all video is in correct format, but nothing works, on either of my 2 burners.

The only difference I notice is that the VCD/SVCDs that I burned before last week (and work fine) have a darker color area around the rim, where I think the free space is, the ones that I made recently and do not work have a barely noticable color difference around the rim.

    What is the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated since now none of the VCD/SVCD I burn work.

    Windows XP
    Older internal CD burner
Sony DRX 500 ULX DVD burner

  2. Did you change media??

Try burning in the Sony and see if the problem goes away. Could be the aser getting weak or a change of media.

I have noticed that some brands of media have a more pronounced difference in color between burned and unburned areas than other brands of media. On some brands I can barely see the difference but they work OK too.

    Good Luck

Been trying with my burners including the Sony, no luck. I have no idea what happened, I was getting great VCD/SVCDs with both burners last week.
