When burning images my CDRs come out like the image, with gaps, Nero doesn't display any error messages, but the CDs are un-useable. Is this a simple problem like lense cleaning or is it time for a new one...

Since lens cleaning is cheaper than CD-RWs, why not try it first?.
Hello. -
This happens on all the media I use, cheap and expensive. My burner is now 2 years old, I have never had this problem before, even with the cheapest of media. Ill try a lens cleaner, if that doesn't work i'm gonna trash the burner

If you can't get the burner working, sell it on eBay (state that it doesn't work, of course). I got $20 for my broken 8x4x32 drive

Problem solved! (i think), I opened up the burner and cleaned the lense with a cotton swab and a little detergent, so far so good
