Ok, what is the best format to capture TV (satelitte also) to burn to dvd? I'm trying the mpeg2 setting in asus digital vcr, but for some reason I'm having some problems here with size. When I go to burn that file onto a dvd...the file is to large to fit on there. These files are like 3.7 gigs...this is one single file...audio and video together.
I would like to be able to record from my satelitte and then just take that file and burn straight to dvd...how can I do this?

Are you authoring the mpeg2 file before you burn it to DVD ? and is the mpeg 2 dvd complient ? what program are you using to burn to DVD ?
as for 3.7 GB being too big to fit onto a DVD-R I dont know...it should fit fine. -
I'm using ASUS Digital VCR with my ASUS V8200 Video card. In the digital vcr I can select what format I want to record in..I'm choosing MPEG2 to record with. I'm burning with Sonic MyDVD, which someone was telling me it's not the best one to use. So, I'm looking for tmpgenc DVD Authoring.
I want to be able to record with digital vcr and then burn to dvd without having to do any re-encoding...authoring...etc. If it can be done.
