OK i've SEARCHED heaps for a FIX to this problem, and all i have found is people saying "the patch is on Uleads website". I am referring to the patch that fixes the ANNOYING problem of MF2 and DVD Workshop to mess around with your MPEGS and cause them to be OUT OF SYNC on playback. I have seen VARIOUS threads here, not a single one has posted a link to this patch.
Can someone PLEASE direct it to me, because i am very frustrated by ULeads programs.![]()
And before anyone mentions "DVD COMPLIANT MPEGS" the MPEGS i am using ARE dvd compliant, atleast they are according to DVD workshop. It says the files are COMPLIANT!!
I am using DVD Workshop 1.2
On playback, some streams play OK, others progressively move out of sync.
SURELY someone here can help!!
It would be much appreciated if someone could send me this fix to y_ayyar@optusnet.com.au

the trial is 1.2 the latest is 1.3, you can go to ftp.ulead.com and browse the directories and find an old DWS_SYNC-Patch.exe file, that may help you with the 1.2 trial you have.
-
So i am expected to purchase the latest version despite the fundamental bugs of 1.2? Ulead must be dreaming. Anyway thanks for the FTP link, most helpful post anyone has given on the subject so far.
I got the file. Lets hope that this work -
The sync problem with MF1 was well known before the release of MF2.
Did Ulead do anything about it? Our survey said..............
Save time, money and sanity by using Scenalyser, TMPGEnc and whetever burning program you have.Regards,

has anybody gotten this 1.3 patch to actually install? it tells me it can't find DVD Workshop on my system even though it's staring right at me from the desktop. i too have been having this audio sync issue since i got my burner last year. it's frustrating me to no end.

The latest Ulead DVD WORKSHOP patch is located here:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dws/dws_ftp.htm
The latest Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 patch is located here:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm
Audio sync is perfect on my two test machines.
If you continue to have trouble...
Please make certain you have registered your copy of DVD Workshop.
Then log in to the Ulead Web site and fill out the OFFICIAL tech support form located here:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/Suppform.htm
Thank you.

How exactly does registering your software meke it work better if you've already installed the latest patch (which does not work). Ulead's support is notoriously pisspoor so I don't imagine that they will be able to help.

Actually, I have used various Ulead software products over the past several years as an employee of the City of Boise.
I rarely needed tech support for anything because the software usually worked as advertised.
But in those rare circumstances when I needed help, I...
a. registered my software
...and...
b. filled out the official tech support form
http://www.ulead.com/tech/Suppform.htm
These two simple steps always led to a helpful response.

Well, I'm happy that Ulead products work for you
But, I've tried all of their DVD authoring trial software and had sync problems with them all (which I've not experienced with other programs). If I'm paying good $ for something I'd like it to at least be competent at the basics without getting the techie tubbies involved. Ulead have been aware of the sync problem since MF1 (and tried to sort it out with a patch) but is still there in MF2 - what does that say about their products?Regards,
Rob -
it's really a shame because out of all the dvd authoring software i've tried, dvd workshop is by far the most user friendly. too bad it doesn't actually work otherwise i'd have no problem paying for it.
i just wish i could understand why the audio sync issue only affects certain people while others have no problem whatsoever.

I have no problems.
I use DVDWS 1.3 regularly, and have source MPEG2's (D1 and Half-D1) and MPEG1's (VCD which I let it convert the audio to 48KHz) generated from various sources (TMPEnc, CCE, VS6) with and without frameserving.
But I must say, I almost always have my video source ready before I bring it into DVDWS. ie. I use it to author, not encode.
Are the people who are having problems using DVDWS to do encoding? The glass is neither half-full, nor half-empty.
It is simply twice as big as it needs to be. -
Update:
To give Ulead another chance, I downloaded the trial version of MediaStudioPro7 from http://www.ulead.com/msp/trial.htm
When I went to install it, this is what I got:
Now if even the trial software cannot install, let alone demonstrate how good it is, just what incentive do I have to spend $475???Regards,
Rob -
Try VideoStudio version 7.
It has never given me audio sync problems!"Signature"......
I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video..... -
What patcha m i looking for guys? The only patch thats there is the
