make disc with studio deluxe 8

can you help
i recently purchased studio deluxe 8 ive made a film off about 30 minutes with menus and chapters when i select make disc {vcd} it renders fine then it ask to insert a blank disc so i insert disc then it burnsafter about 10 sec it says completed when i plat disc theres nothing there
its as if the programme doesnt reconise my cdrw ive selected it in the settings and it still does the same ive also tried with mpeg 2 scvd still the same
can someone please help

managed to find out wat was wrong the problem was that im had a generic virtue image device on so studio was reconising that and not cdrw
ill leave subject on here for a while just in case anyone else has a problem
