  1. Hi I have 1 DVD a DVD-10 (double side DVD) of friends with 4 episodes on each side. I Ripped both sides and used DVDShrink to downsize each side to 2,07 G and then used TMPGEnc DVD Author to fit them on one DVD-R. It worked great with and without menues BUT here's the prob I don't get any subtitles I tried looking on the TMPGEnc site to see if DVD Author supports subtitles but can't seem to find anything on the subject So i was wondering of any of you guys out there know if TMPGEnc DVD Author supports subtitles and if not (Which would be a shame with such a nice Software) Then where do I go from here then My goal is to fit all these 8 episodes onto 1 DVD-R With Subtitles, that's all 8) I Don't really need the menues cause i don't want to get to much into details for each dvd because im doing the hole series soon but if there's someway you can keep Both of the original menues and create a master menu to choose from that would be great
Any help to solve this problem is gladly appreciated it.

TMPGenc DVD Author do NOT support subtitles. I don't think it is planned in future versions either.

do u need subs? :EDIT: obviously cos it's in your post inbetween the smilies

theres a great way to do it

just use DVDSHrink and reauthor DVD ripping as many episodes as you require

then use the 30 day trial of DVD Lab and simply just drop the VOB's into assets box

only thing is u can only have one audio track and that's it

it even works out chapter points for you if you want. I stuck 6 in so I can skip thru just in case I fall asleep or get called away so far thru an episode

but its just worked great fpr me putting the Friends series together onto one DVD and creating a simple menu scanned from DVD Cover

it had 4 episodes per side but now I have all 8 on one DVD

all of 5 mins usertime using DVD Lab then I'm using IC to shrink it just a little

when u can use more audio and import subs it will be a great app but it will do for now backing up my Friends collection cos that will take a while

using Ifoedit you can copy the Subtitle colours across

open the original in Ifoedit, use Subtitle colour and choose copy, then open the new IFO within the same Ifoedit and paste the colours

you need to choose the PGC or somits 1st but there's better guides out there or someone will explain very shortly, if not I'll tell you exactly how later in the day

open the IFO for the VOB's

in the top window, click VTSPGCITI and highlight the PGC in question

then choose Subtitle Colour in the drop down menu at the top and copy colours from this PGC

then click OPEN and goto the new IFO and open it

again click VTSPGCITI and highlight the PGC in question

then choose Subtitle Colour in the drop down menu at the top and paste colours into this PGC

if you have a few PGC's to do in the VTSPGCITI, just Paste the colours into each PGC cos they will all be the same anyway so you only need to copy em once

    click Save and that's it

just open the next IFO that you wanna paste colours into also and do exactly the same

once you get the jist it's a piece of p1$$ 8)

  9. ok hi again I tried many solutions by now but im on the verge of giving up I just can't seem to get it right im always close but no cigar The closest I came was try joining of files with IFO Edit. It got my files joined anf i got suns after pasting the original colour BUT now here's my troubles THE CHAPTERS when I play it with Power DVD i can use skip for the first 3 chapters and then it comes to the last episode of the first part and I can't skip through this one but after that final episode is finished I can skip again It's like this I can skip from 1-2-3-4 can't skip till 5 but after episode 5 finishes i can skip again from 6-7-8 Am I doing something wrong or can't you skip between episode 4 and 5 because of the joining of the two dvd's here This has been troubling me for a long time now folks I've had these 40 G of friends sitting and laughing at me on my HD for a month now
