Using a DVD-r as a big S/VCD

I have several sets of films on S/VCD, could I transfer them onto a DVD-r and have it play as a S/VCD?
I want to put Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers onto DVD-r but I don't want to re-encode, its 6 cd's in total so it would fit but how do I write it?

I've had this work with pretty good results. Much easier to convert from VCD or CVD to DVD thou (as 352x240 and 352x480 or supported DVD resolutions, while 480x480 is not).
