I have an NEC DVD+RW drive which should be compatible with RecordNow Max. However, when I try to run it, the program is telling me it doesn't recogniza any compatible drives. I have a Dell system, already came with EasyCD Creator installed, does this matter? The RecordNow Max is a trial version. Any help would be appreciated.

probaly, try uninstalling your other burning programs, then reinstall recordnow.

Try running the engine update. This adds many new burners.

Roxio doesn't work with any other software. Nero doesn't like it at all. The problem comes from the packet writing software it uses for C/DVDRW. I'd un-install it completely, then re-install recodnow.
