I have a VCD that is 870 MB, too large to fit onto one CD. I split the mpeg-1 file into two chunks using mpgtx-14-beta-4. I then took each chunk and burned it as a VCD in Toast, but they don't work on my VCD player.

I tried to wrap them in bin format, but the wrapping process stops at 65 MBs (each chunk is around 430 MB).

How do I segment a VCD into two or more chunks that can be successfully burned to CD and viewed on a DVD player? Obviously, the VCDs are getting screwed up by the splitting process. Do I need to demux them, then split them, and then mux them again?

  2. try splitting, then demuxing each chunk and then mux them again.

  3. Use gumby to split it in two chunks then burn them using Toast.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it turns out the mpeg was split just fine. However, the VCD is PAL format which my low-end JVC DVD player doesn't play.

    Oh well.
