I have Ulead VideoStudio 7 and it has an option to mute the sound from the video file. I have a DVD compliant video file (output disc format is DVD -- same specs as video file so there should be no reencoding) and if I just mute the sound, would that decrease the size of the output file (in other words, is the mp2 gone from the video file)?
I hope I have not embarrassed myself for asking a stupid question.![]()

It's a good question, actually.
I've never tested it.
But I doubt it would result in a smaller file size.
Why?
Because all you are doing is muting the sound, but the audio data is still there.
