  1. LAst night when I was copying a DVD , my instantcd-dvd 6.5 hanged up my computer after a bit of started writing.

Result, obviously, dvd-r to trash. or not?
My idea is, it's possible to "close" the session left (I presume) open to be able to use the dvd-r in the remaining free part (trat should be 99%)?

It's just an idea, I hate the fact of wasting a new dvd-r.
    Thanks a lot

You should not post the same thing twice and change the subject title. Post it once and give people some time to answer.

  3. If it was a data disc you might have got away with a "multi session" disc like that - providing the drive and your OS looks at the last session only and you didn't cross link into the previous session.

As it was a movie, the disc is wasted. DVD players expect a UDF/ISO bridge with little to no deviance, which that disc will not be.

Plus, I doubt your burning software will allow you to burn any further on that disc anyway, since it will detect it's not blank.

Sorry, I believe you've got a nice shiny new drinks coaster.

  4. Sorry, didn't have an idea which forum was the best to ask in.

If you are pretty new to the world of backing up DVD's then you should get a few DVDRW's and do a few movies with them until you get the hang of it. That way you wont be wasting any more DVDR's.
