is there a way to rip the sound from the video and fix up the sound? making it clearer? right now it is hollow, coming from the left speaker. i know how to multiplex and stuff, but if i reencode the sound or use some special filter, will it make it clear or whatever?

Ok, I imagine that Virtual Dub/Nandub and Sonic Foundry's Vegas 4--and probably other progs--have filters/options that can allow one to fix audio a bit, but can anyone point me to some links w/some tutorials on how to do so?

in virtual dub open video and then go to audio and check full processing mode then audio again and check conversion, then check 44100, 16 bit, hi quality stereo and then go to file and save new wav. but for great results get goldwave from goldwave.com, unlimited shareware and open file then use edit and change settings to stereo then go to effects and use dynamic compression and/or many other effects to get the quailty of sound you want and make sure it is also changed to stereo and resampled to 44100 for vcd or 48000 for dvd
good luck
