  1. I have all 7 seasons of South Park in Real Media format. Is there anyway i can get them in a format to be burned to DVDs to watch on my home TV? (it's a lot bigger than the 15" screen on my powerbook)

  2. I Don't know why on earth you'd want to, but you can basicly use EO-Video to convert your RM into MPEG1 or MPEG2 files or even AVI files, and you'll know what to do with those files from there 8)

Don't feel embarrased. I applaud you for answering those posts which hang around with a million views and 0 replies.

However, I am not aware of an app that will do this for OSX. One could just run virtual pc and use the app you are talking about which will work fine in VPC.

EO_Video can be found at :http://www.eo-video.com/

it looks like a simple enough app, I dont see why it wouldnt work in virtual pc.

  7. I Rather disagree, i've converted some of my RM's and the VCD quality that came out from there was rather impressive! sure, it wasn't DVD rip or AVI encoded to VCD, but it was defenetly not worse then the RM itself!

galactica, thank you for the compliments, it's just that I feel bad for all those who don't get answers, so I go over all the Unanswred topics which went back in history, and whatever I can answer I try.

If you manage to get that program to work in VirtualPC, let me know!

IT works, i just downloaded it to give it a try. I dont have any .rm source files to test the conversion on but it installed and works like a charm.

I have VPC 6.0 with XP Pro and it loads with no problems.
Im not the 1st poster so i cant tell you if the conversion works, but i cant see why it wouldnt.

depending on which Real Video codec is used, you can use mencoder to convert the .rm files to an .avi. [And you know what to do from there]

to find out if it is compatible, load your .rm files into mplayer and see if they will play. If Mplayer will play it, Mencoder will encode it.

    hope this helps.

  10. I Don't know about going to AVI from RM and then to MPG, cause you just lose alot more quality on each conversion, and you should avoid it when ever possible

    Rule of thumb:

    crap in = crap out.

    Agreed.

    Avoid .rm files whenever possible!
