Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.

Well in a sense there is no correct pronunciation for it, its an acronym of sorts. When the encoder was originally released it was named Tsunami (pronounced Su-nam-E) MPG Encoder. The executable to run it was labeled TMPGenc.exe and everyone just assumed that was its name, so since everyone was referring to it by this name, the author officially changed it.
I really don't know how you would pronounce it now. -
I personally call it "tem-peg" (TMPG). Just seems right. TMP is short for temp or temporary (nothing to do with the program) and mpg is just "empeg". I just shove the two together.
Happy to be here. -
interesting... Tsunami sounds cool. they should have kept that name. anybody have the old versions? it'd be cool to see.

I either call it "T. MPEG" or "the Tsunami encoder"! It works for me!!

I call it Tem-peg.
I have called it a lot worse when I've had problems with it -
"Tea, emp-egg, enk" (but faster, like t'mpeg'nk), when mentioning it to the only other voice-contactible person I know who cares (brother).. Tho Tempenc or 'sunami sound cool, they might now confuse

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
I'd go with "Tempeg".
But to close friends I tend to call it "Tent Peg", but that's just me mucking about.
(I can speak English properly... Honest.)

I'm in the "tee-em-pee-gee-enc" group.

i also fall into the Tem-peg group. Ian beat me to the "tent-peg" comment! although in all fairness it gets called "Tem-peg" or "fuc*ing tent peg!"
When first introduced to it my girlfriend called it "Temp genc thingy" -
