  1. I am using DVD Shrink 1.03. When ripping DVD it often stops at the beginning or having through shrinking it. It gives the following error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue this operation

    No Error

    The reason is: unknown

It works on some DVD's but yet a few I have it does this everytime. I have tried cleaning the dvd's as well.

  2. I think the error is displayed as error no. I was thinking that NO was code for something, not like "No Error," maybe error no means something to the "shrink guy," did you post on his board?

I have seen this a couple of times myself. I have taken the same DVD and tried Shrink on another computer and it worked with no error, or error no, or not displaying error no, or not, geez, I'm getting dizzy, well you know what I mean . . so I assumed it was the computer. So far I have 3 that have worked this way, but all DVD's worked fine on another computer.

  3. I don't know if you have already done it, but try to rip file on hard disk first (SmartRipper or DVD Decrypter), then reauthor or rencode from that.
It worked for me and hope it helps.

  4. Unfortunately I don't have another computer to try but I do have two dvd drives (one a reader, one a writer) so have tried reading it on the writer but unfortunately had the same problem.

I liked DVDshrink, but I'm bailing out on it. Bad results more often than not. It needs more work. Back to DVD2one or DVDxcopy for now. Oh well.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  7. Wow, dumping DVDShrink completely. I've just completed my 50th DVD backup and all work! DVDShrink is the best.

  8. I'm surprised how well dvd shrink works. But have this one disc I couldn't do. It won't work in DVD2One and IC either. So I guess its a dvd problem. I tried it in 3 different machines. Otherwise I use it for all my backups unless its a very large file. Then only DVD2One works.
