  1. Hi to all on the group.

    Eric here.

    My question is as follows,

Having used decriptor to rip a dvd to my hdd I would like to be able to use the crop facility that dvdshrink offers me and then be able to reincode the movie with dvd2one. but because dvd shrink encodes the files - dvd2one cannot then encode them as the files need to be riped on the hdd for dvd2one to use them.
    i.e.

I can using dvdshrink, pick the main movie and a sound track and then crop the end credits off the movie sometimes saving 200 to 250 mb of space. the resulting files contain only the main movie with no credits. For example say the main movie was 5.0gb in size after using dvdshrink I would be left with a movie file size of say 4.4gb in size. just over whats allowed.

Now as you can see the 4.4gb file would need less encoding (loss of quality) in dvd2one. I could of course use shrink to compress and encode it but its very inflexable and the minium 20% or so of compression is more than is required and you cant just tell it you want the movie to end up being exactly 4.38gb in size unlike with dvd2one.

Using dvdshrink to compress the 4.6gb would leave you with files of roughly 3.68gb which is a lot of wasted disk space and a lot of needlessly compressed video footage.

So is there any way I can get pick the main movie, pick an audio track getrid of subtitles & get rid of the credits and then have it on the hdd in a compatabe form so that dvd2one can read the files.

would i have to use info edit and if so how would it be able to be done.
    thanks in advance.

    Eric

  2. I don't see why DVD2ONE will have any problems accepting the DVDShrink Input files as source. They should work for DVD2ONE. If they don't work... Try DVDToolBox... maybe that'll help.

  3. Fact:
DVD2one will Not take files made by DVDshrink.
