Assuming you're in the USA....
Some say it's a driver issue and others say it is a hardware problem. When you look at the product brief from Conexant's webpage, it says that the CX23880 (@nywhere's chip) should be able to work in Stereo. MSI definately includes a stereo audio cable in the box, so who knows? Unfortunately, I have read no posts of anyone being able to get Stereo to work for a US television system.
This chip is still in its infancy and if this is a bug in the driver it will eventually be corrected, but it may take a while. If Conexant says the chipset can do it, I have to believe them until proven otherwise.
Another card based on the same chipset is the "Asus TV Tuner" card. The Prolink XCapture uses the CX23881 (european chipset?) on their American card. You might want to see if you can find users of these cards and see if they are having the same type of problems.

Not sure about posting links. If I'm not supposed to, I apologise, and hopefully the mods will delete it.
Try the MSI forums here

There's a quite a bit about it. -
When I first installed the software it was mono, even with the updates. After the reinstall with the updates it's stereo....?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
