  7. I use a firewire card to capture DV from my sony handy cam. Win XP pro already had the drivers and it works great. With firewire, Ulead Video Studio 7 can control my camera from the PC. Do you have USB 1.1 or 2.0?
The capture might not be able to keep up with the handy cam.

The only reason for using the USB connection is to take the still shots off of the memory card, if you're trying to capture video you will have to use the Firewire card. But if you use the firewire card you will not be able to get the pictures off of the memory card. Good ol' Sony releasing more crap into the public.

  12. hi the same thing happened to me and although my software says xp on it it never worked microsoft told me to uninstall the software and cap with moviemaker or some other and i have yet to ever crash. the software wont work so take it off and cap with a different prog. i have yet to hear jsnkc say something that was not studid, wrong, ignorant or all three.

you can cap with usb but invest in the firewire and get rid of the software. xp will plug and play i guarantee it
