Confused about DVD menus. Can anyone help.

Issue # 1

All I want to do is burn my home videos from my minidv cam to DVD.
IS there any easy way to do this with a menu at the beginning that simply says something like:

Chapter One: Christmas
Chapter Two: Tommy Birthday
Chapter Three: Day at the Zoo

And be able to choose what chapter you want to watch from the menu?

Because most of these how tos on menus seem really complicated using photoshop and crap. I want something REALLY simple.

Issue #2

When I burn my home videos to DVD, can you fast forward on them really fast during playback (32x) like on a normal DVD? Because I know on my VCDs you could only go up to a moderate fast forward.

Depending on which editing software you are using, there is always a way to add a title to your movie. I have adobe prem. and have used ulead. Both have allowed me to add titles

As far as adding chapters you can. I don't know whether fast forwarding a dvd vs. vcd makes any differences. I think it has more to do with you dvd player. Though that would be more of a guess that an a fact

Not worried about titles.

I want a menu that I can select simple chapters from.
