Hi everyone,
Can anyone recommend some brands of inexpensive but effective DVD scratch repair products? I've read all over the forum about using toothpastes or compounds or Lemon Pledge, etc. But frankly I'm too inexperienced to perform that kind of experiments. I've tried the CD Doctor Kit before, but only made my audio CD worse (from merely skipping to completely unplayable), so I'd rather not invest $40 for another one. What about these <$10 varities? Any particular ones that work well?
Thanks in advance...

That was what I had -- I used it to repair an audio CD though, no DVD. It left these wavy patterns on the surface of the CD by the cleaning gadget, and the CD became completely unplayable. I'm leery to try it again for DVDs...

Toothpaste.
The white kind with diotomus earth in it (chalk).
Little warm water and your finger in a gentle center to edge motion and never a circular motion. DVD's and CD's are waterproof. Rinse and repeat until it reads. I'd give in a minute, then look and see how bad the scratch looks.
I have only had 1 DVD not respod to this treatment, and it was soooooo badly scratched it was actually broken (I did back it up, just used DVDDecryptor and ignored about 40 blocks of errors, it jumps for a second in one place but is otherwise fine). To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
