  1. I download alot of anime AVI's that have been fansubbed by various groups. I am not sure of the specific avi coding. When I watch them on the computer the video and subtitles are crisp (subtitles are already on the avi, not separate tracks).

    Anyway, when I go to convert the AVI to VCD, I use tmpgenc (latest version), I use noise, ghost, and sharpen advance features, highest quality conversion, and cg/animation quantize matrix.

    The result are a fairly good picture to the AVI but the subtitles are fuzzy, readable, but fuzzy. Subtitles have white lettering with blue outline btw.

    I guess the only other thing I can say is that I have to convert the audio from 48000hz if that helps with identifying the AVI.

    I am ok with the results but I feel there has to be a way to get closer to the avi quality with the mpeg format used for vcds.

    maybe that's because vcds have a lower resolution than your avi.

  3. There may not be a cure, but is there any way that I can IMPORVE the picture quality at all?? Also, The AVIs seem to be dark, how can I resolve that??
