  1. Flick feedback. IMO, the story was better than the first. Included more action and excitement while keeping the plot moving. Last 15 minutes are probably the best in comic-to-screen history. Sets up great story for the next movie. Even hints at return of one of the biggest characters in the whole X-MEN story. A fight between fire and ice. Pyro and Iceman would have been cool, I can wait for the next one.

editut spoil in the title so no one else will share tgpo's fate

anyone who has basic knowledge of x-men could tell right away when they first do close-ups of jean and there's fire in her eyes what that is pointing to. then when the fire surrounds her at the end, there is no doubt that she did not "die."
overall, great movie. its a whole lot better than the first. love kelly hu as yuriko. can't wait for the matrix sequels and the third part of x-men.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

    I loved it.

I wasn't impressed with the first movie, but I was also glad it didn't suck as bad as I thought it would... but this one was sweet.

One thing I really liked on reflection - it kinda held true to the story-style of the Byrne/Austin/Claremont years - lots of parallel action being cut to and away from...

loved the teleporting effects for Nightcrawler. And loved the little girl Banshee reference!

gotta go see it again this weekend, I think....

[and the theater had the audience pegged - the previews included The Hulk, Matrix:Reloaded and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...]

what a shit way to post a good thread.
put the movie name in the thread title for christs sake.
I was hoping to scroll to the bottom and post this, without seeing the title or theme of the post yet there is it, right at the top.
That's one movie I won't be rushing to see now.
Someone lock this if he can't add the movie name to the thread title
tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have.

That phoneix storyline is a stupid plot for a movie. Its too unbeleivable and if I remember the comic book about it, doesnt it open up all this space stuff and alien conflicts and stuff? Its fine for a comic book, but not every comic storyline can work as a movie. If they have done this or are going to do, then they have probably ruined the franchise for good.

The reason X-men has worked is it was made in a beleivable way. If you start throwing other stuff in it like that, you are going to get a Batman and Robin type flick and who wants that. There is only one storyline for X-men to take and thats legacy virus and sentinels with character development, new mutants etc etc.

On the other hand, Spiderman was a boring movie with these cheesy vilians from the 60s. That movies should have had one storyline which involves Venom or Carnage. Thats the only villian worthy of including in the movie.

Just got back from seeing it. I have to say this it was fair at best. Not enough action or bad guys. Where are the intense, edge of my seat fights??? Where are the powerful villians??? Not in this movie.....but maybe next time.

It is in the cinemas now and I've haven't seen yet and in no hurry for it!

I don't want to know the secrets of the film, so don't tell me. Anyway, I've seen the interviews on Real Player yesterday. I'll check out on http://www.apple.com/trailers/ for the trailer soon.

I'll properly watch it on DVD sometime later this year.

    Regards
    Chris

  12. If the Xmen can make it wonder how big the L.S.H. would be?

  13. Hi. Personally, I loved the film. I thought new characters were well introduced and existing characters well developed. For me, the only 'let-down' was the speed at which the film seemed to move at. Although I am aware that this is an action film, I still felt that it could have taken it's time moving between sub-plots. I agree with tygrus2000 comments regarding believability and hope that the next one, assuming they make one , wont focus too heavily on the phoenix saga. Perhaps the next one could involve Apocalypse? That would be great fun!
