Is there a Ligos software DVD player?

I found Ligos MPEG2 decoder in my VFAPI plugins list in TMPGenc.
By default it is ticked and above the Cyberlink decoder. I unticked Ligos decoder and now TMPGEnc accepts MPEG2 files. I have PowerDVD installed.

If I have uninstalled a Ligos player, perhaps VCDEasy and other programs that have errors with MPEG2 files are trying to use the Ligos decoder also, which is obviously not there.

    Thoughts, please.

ligos doesnt make a player per say .. but do make a mpeg2 codec that is used by many ..

if you want to not use it , check your control panel add remove software and if its not there use dxman and de-reg it ..

Add and remove did list Indeo Software. I worried about other stuff not working if I remove it
I used DXman and that listed several Indeo and Ligos codecs
If TMPGE couldn't use the Ligos mpeg2 decoder is it feasiable that other programs also have problems with it ?

A wav studio i use locks up when trying to extract audio from an mpeg2 file. VCDEasy closes itself when trying to load and play mpeg2 files into it's playing window in the chapters section.

    yes delete shared files ..

though there is some mix up here ...

the Indeo Software listed in dxman is native windows codecs and you can leave alone

the ligos software is not (non of it there) is native windows software and you can remove all of it -- you MIGHT have to re-install powerdvd after .. no big deal ..

ligos owns Indeo though and sometimes when checking properties you see ligos as a name and think both are the same .

I have a Ulead video editting app. I can load an mpeg2 file into it but when I press preview the audio is heard but the preview window just shows a big X.
Perhaps I could try uninstalling Ulead.
Atleast I got TMPG to accept Mpeg2, Maybe I should just be happy with that.
    Thankyou for your input BJ_M
