I am capturing using composite, i would use S-Video for a better picture, but when i try to capture through this i just get a black and white image.. can anyone explain or remedy this ?? does this only happen with PAL ??

hi Athlon,
I'm not from PAL land, but here in NTSC land, when you go from RCA to
S-Video, you have to use PREVIEW instead. And, if you set to PREVIEW,
you have to reset the colors.
A quick way around this is to pratice step each time you setup your capture
card..
* After pressing "P" for PREVIEW (vdub)
* press "S" key and then press ok or <RETURN> key, and that's it.
You'll see the colors re-adjust. When that happens, you are ready. Just
remember to always practice this, and you'll be alright - k?

thanx for the help dude, but that didnt work. I know about setting the source of the video, but I'm not going from RCA to S-Video, I'm going from S-Video to S-Video !!
