Can anyone tell me a 'foolproof' process for burning DVD's I currently use Ulead DVD Movie Factory (uses re-encoded Mpeg2 files) or Nero - uses ripper VOB files.

I have yet to produce a completely satisfactory result. The burned films all play but most have a bit of blocking and sometimes run out of synch (A & V).

I use DVD-R's Princo, Primedisk, Imation and International Asia all seem to have the same quality problems.

My writer is a Pioneer A04 and my standalone is a Sony 525 (2 1/2 years old.

Any help would be well appreciated.

Do you mean copying DVD's, or burning DVD's that you made?? IF it's copying DVD's just use DVD Decrypter to rip the whole thing to your hard drive, then use Instacopy to burn it to disc, works every time for me.

  3. I have had this problem before with Princo disks, so I am tempted to point the finger at poor media (especially if the problem occurs most often towards the end of your films) but I must say I am surprised that the problem remains with Imation disks, so perhaps my gut instinct is wrong. Try a Ritek and see what happens. Also clean your player's laser if you can.

    Arky ;o)
