  2. I would like to add to this question. Is there a capacity limit for firewire enclosures ???

  3. Yes, it is because of the 137 GB hard drive capacity barrier. I need to install a new ATA card provided by WD to install my new hard disk. I checked here http://www.1394max.com/35prosfirdri.html. they mentioned it supports up to 250 GB maxtor only. (WD,IBM,Seagage only upto 120GB).

You can get the Pyro Firewire Enclosure in which you can install an internal hard drive and turn it into a firewire drive, which costs around $99. You can find it in stores like Best Buy and CompUSA. There is no capacity limit as far as the enclosures goes....you just have to make sure that the BIOS or the IDE controller can support the GB size over 137GB, or else it wont work. Hope this helps.

  6. Thanks a lot guys. I should have bought it from dell while ordering the hard disk. I would have saved a lot. Here is the equation.

    HD $285 + Kit $71.93 = $356.93 - $90 coupon (order over $350) = $266.93 - 100 MIR For hard disk = $166.93.

Anyway, I'll try to buy one asap.
