I have a 2 year old Toshiba SD-4205 dvd changer. It is at rom revision 1.3
I can't play dvd+r or dvd+rw that I have burned slide shows to. I have tried different types of software. I have a new Plextor dvd+r burner that I am using to burn the dvds. These dvds play fine in my cheapo Apex. I am aware there is a newer firmware version available for the Toshiba SD-4205 player. Version 2.0 is available. What I need to know is if this firmware will allow dvds that I burn to play. Toshiba customer service does not guarantee anything. I hate to throw out this dvd player because it is built like a tank. It will play ripped cds, cd/rw and vcds with no problem. If I chance the 2.0 firmware, it is likely to cost $75.00 to do the upgrade at a local repair shop. Considering decent players can be had for $125.00, this seems like an expensive gamble. Anyone have this player and sucessfully had dvd+r work.
