I'm using ULEAD'S Medistudio for capturing/editing VHS-tapes via Hollywood Bridge. My problem: the caputered movies always have some junk lines on top and bottom of each frame. Even on the left and right side are black areas. When I convert these movies to SVCD PAL (480x576), I can't get rid of the black borders. After conversion, I always see the black borders. Is there any way to resize the frames, so thatr no black borders can be seen ?

Open up the captured file in virtual dub, add a 0 transform filter, crop out your borders, then framserve to TMPGEnc

will the frames being streched after that ? Or must I use the amount of cropping in such way, that the cropped frame will have the same proportion (480x576) as the result ?
Anyway, I'll try that! -
I'd tried it sucessfully after some struggle with the dvsd codec and it looks great!
